What Regresa Is

Regresa Retreat & Healing Center sits at the intersection of somatic healing, spiritual depth, cultural reverence, and psychological safety. We create experiences that support real change without spiritual inflation, performative wellness, or overpromising outcomes.

Embodiment over intellect

Truth without shame

Integration over journey

Embodiment Over Intellect
Healing happens in the body. Our work emphasizes somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and lived experience over analysis alone.

Truth Without Shame
We meet each participant with warmth, respect, and non-judgment. Nothing needs to be fixed before you arrive. We look forward to inviting you in.

Integration Over Escape

The retreat is only the beginning. You become part of our community. We prioritize tools, practices and support that you carry into your real life.

Regresa Retreat & Healing Center is not a vacation and not a quick fix. It is a return. Through thoughtfully designed retreats, individuals find deep healing, restoration, and reconnection. Our experiences integrate mind, body, and spirit through trauma-informed practices, ceremonial plant medicine, and intentional integration support. We create safe, contained spaces for healing where participants can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and explore meaningful transformation. Each retreat is designed with psychological safety, cultural respect, and long-term integration in mind.

Rooted in Place

Lake Chapala has been a place of return far longer than any of us. Its north shore sits in a ring of mountains, in a climate of near-perpetual spring, and people have come to its water to be restored for centuries, long before it drew the painters, the writers, and the seekers who arrived and never quite left.

Our home, Villa Armonia, rests in San Juan Cosalá, a village whose name traces back to an older word for the place of many warm springs. The town grew up around thermal water that rises warm from beneath the earth, and the people who lived along this shore first brought their offerings to the lake. Still today, the old sweat-lodge ceremony, the temazcal, the "house of heat", is kept alive on these shores.

A few minutes east is Ajijic, a Pueblo Mágico of cobblestone and bougainvillea and murals, where the mornings are slow and the light comes off the water gold. Beyond it, the lakeside town of Chapala. Together they make one landscape, lived-in, quietly sacred, drawing people home to themselves for generations.

We did not choose this place for its beauty alone. We chose it because the land already knows how to hold what we do here.

FAQ

What does it mean to return?

Regresa means return. Regresa Retreat & Healing Center is an invitation to return to what has always been within you. Not to fix or force, but to remember. Through the body, through rhythm, through rest, we return to regulation, clarity, and sovereignty.
This is not escape. It is homecoming.

Return to self. Return to body. Return to truth. Return to home.

Who is being called to return?

Regresa Retreat & Healing Center is for emotionally aware adults who aready for depth, not performance. For those who feel successful yet untethered, capable yet tired, wise yet disconnected from their own rhythm. It is for leaders, creatives, caretakers, and seekers who sense that the next chapter requires presence, not performance. If your body is asking for pause, you are listening for a reason.

If you are:

Individuals seeking healing beyond talk therapy alone

• Helpers, clinicians, creatives, and leaders experiencing burnout

• People navigating grief, transition, or identity shifts

• Those called to intentional plant medicine work with proper support

• Anyone longing to reconnect with their body and inner truth

Regresa is calling you home.

How do we return, safely and sovereign?

Our approach is somatic, ancestral, and trauma-informed. We work with the nervous system, not against it, using regulation, ritual, creativity, and rest as guides. Nothing is forced. Nothing is extracted. Your agency is honored at every step.

Every Regresa Retreat is intentionally structured to support safety, depth, and integration before, during, and after the journey.

1. Preparation
Pre-retreat screening, intention setting, and education to ensure readiness and alignment.

2. Immersion
Carefully facilitated experiences including somatic practices, group work, ceremony, movement, rest, and reflection.

3. Integration
Post-retreat support, reflection tools, and optional coaching to help insights translate into daily life.

What unfolds during the return?

Fall, 2026

Your days at the Regresa Retreat & Healing Center, our all-inclusive plant medicine retreat, unfold slowly and with intention. Evenings open the space through shared meals and gentle ceremonial practices, allowing the body to arrive before the mind is asked to follow. Time is then given to deeper inner exploration, guided journeys held with care and followed by processing, creative expression, and sound that supports rest and integration. As the retreat moves toward completion, the rhythm softens into choice, movement, dialogue, land, or quiet, so that what has been touched can settle naturally. Nothing is rushed. The work is allowed to breathe, and each participant is met where they are. Days at the Regresa Retreat and Healing Center move with intention. Time is held gently, allowing insights to arrive in their own rhythm.

Why is this sacred land the container?

Because the work is held not only by people, but by place. Our home sits on the north shore of Lake Chapala, a ring of mountains, warm springs rising from beneath the earth, water that people have returned to for healing for centuries. The land here is already practiced at holding what we do. We didn't choose it for its beauty alone. We chose it because it knows how to hold the work.
